Taylor Swift, multi-talented singer-songwriter and heroine to teenage girls across the world,She never shout-outs to her fans, expressing her love and gratitude for the people who buy her albums and concert tickets.
It doesn't mean she's willing to read all of their fan letters, though.
Taylor Swift's fans send the American pop star "thousands of letters every day", but some have been left confused after a box of unopened fan mail was found in a recycling bin in Nashville.
After the letters are opened and read, they are recycled," her spokesperson, Paula Erickson, told the network.
Francescan was recycling her own rubbish when she discovered the letters in the bin, which is located on the site of a primary school over 13 miles away. She told Nashville's News 2 Investigates:"There were like hundreds of letters in there to Taylor Swift and I'm like, ‘Oh my gosh!' I didn't know if they were stolen [or] discarded, so I threw them in a box."
Swift has a strong fan base – the singer's Facebook page has over 40 million likes and self-named 'Swifties' run Twitter accounts, forums and blogs with thousands of followers. The star visited a fan who has cancer in hospital on Saturday afternoon, ahead of her new Red tour. In January, Swift won a People's Choice award for favourite country artist, and thanked her fans "for caring about my music and caring about me."
The singer has not commented on the dumped mail.
