Billboard Latin Music Awards 2013 Nominees

The prestigious Billboard Latin American Music Awards Celebrating its 15th anniversary on 25th April, announced their final nominees on 5th Feb.

Don Omar has done it again. After leading the 2012 list of finalists for the Billboard Latin Music Awards with 16 finalist nods, he returns in 2013 with 18 nods, including Artist of the Year; Social Artist of the Year and Streaming Artist of the Year.

Following with 12 nods is bachata star Romeo Santos, while urban duo Wisin & Yandel are tied with 11 nods each.

Prince Royce and Pitbull, major finalists last year, also returned with 10 and nine nods respectively, while newcomers 3BallMTY notched eight.

But the greatest surprise of the day was the 11 nominations obtained by late Mexican American singer Jenni Rivera.

Rivera died last December 9th in a plane crash in Mexico that left no survivors. She released "Joyas Prestadas" a year earlier, and a new compilation album “La Misma Gran Señora” just two days after her death. Both musical productions are now being nominated as "Best Album of the Year."

Other notable artists nominated included Daddy Yankee, Jennifer Lopez, Leslie Grace, Enrique Iglesias, Mana, Il Volo and Ricardo Arjona.

The nominees were announced by actress Gaby Espino and actor Miguel Varoni.
 
The awards ceremony will be broadcasted live on Telemundo on Thursday, April 25 at 7/6 PM (ET) from the Bank United Center at the University of Miami.

Many others have been nominated in the 67 categories.
